Metamorphasis Monday: Tennis Ball Basket Makeover

Wow, I love the fall-ish weather of today! It is about 80 degrees and windy enough to dry 3 loads of laundry in 2 hours! Love it!
I thought I'd share this $10 tennis ball basket that I found at a thrift store. I decided to use it on my porch for the kid's balls, so I painted it red to match the other things that I'm painting on the porch and used chalkboard paint and a wonderful chalkboard marker so that if I want to use it for something else, I can just erase it and re-write!
Thanks for stopping by!

Toy Bench Makeover for Metamorphasis Monday

This is my first time participating in Metamorphasis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch!
This is a chest / bench that I bought for $5 last year at a yard sale. It' been sitting on my porch holding outside toys ever since. Since I am working (slowly) on renovating my porch, I thought I'd paint this to match. I added 4 lil' wooden accents before painting it.
Isn't she beautiful?

Vintage Baby Dresses

Thrifty Mom and I were at a yard sale that we stop at a couple of times a year when we're at the river. We didn't find anything except a bag of 19 vintage baby dresses and slips. No, we don't NEED baby dresses because there are no baby girls in our family. But who could pass up all of those sweet lil' baby girl dresses for $5? Well, not Thrifty Mom!

When my girls were newborns, I put MY baby dresses on them that looked like these.
When was the last time you saw a baby in a dress like this WITH a slip?!

A Coupla Projects to Share
The first project to share is a vintage lamp that I bought for $3 at a yard sale. The cord was missing the plug, so my hubby added a new plug to it and I added this lampshade that I had hot glued roses around. This will be in my girls' room and they love it!

For my next project, I had taken down my long curtains that made the room look smaller. And for months I kept looking for just the right valances when it occurred to me that I had many cute lil' vintage hand towels, scarves, napkins, and hankies that were just sitting in a drawer. I thought they'd look cute layered as a valance and it was a perfect way to show them off. I love the way it turned out and even better, I didn't have to spend a penny!

Look at My Cute New Set of Vintage or Not Glasses!
So, while I was waiting for our pet rat to be seen at the vet last week (she had an abscess), I had some time to visit some of the thrift shops around there. The only thing that I felt the need to buy was this sweet set of 4 glasses. They are about 4.5" tall...just a lil' taller than a juice glass and have floral bouquets all over. I just love these lil' glasses. The only marking I see on them is the word Avir, which I think is a glass company in Italy. I'm not sure if these are vintage or not, but they spoke to me and said that I must buy them and for $6.50, I didn't feel but so guilty about it.
Just perfect for strawberry lemonade served from my Big Mama pitcher!
Cheers!
